Tabular alumina is a kind of pure sintered alumina without any additives such as MgO and B2O3.It has a coarse and well-developed α-Al2O3 crystal structure, with an Al2O3 content of over 99%. It features a plate-like crystal structure, small pores and a relatively high proportion of closed pores, and its porosity is roughly the same as that of fused alumina.

Tabular Alumina Has Performance Characteristics

 

High hardness

The Tabular alumina hardness is usually between 9.0 and 9.5 levels, which is harder than traditional metal and plastic materials, and can effectively grind hard materials.

High density

The density of Tabular alumina is typically between 3.8 and 3.9g/cm³, several times higher than that of common metallic materials.

Strong wear resistance

It can withstand a large amount of wear and friction, maintain a sharp grinding surface for a long time, and improve work efficiency and processing quality.

High compressive strength

Capable of withstanding a pressure of over 2000MPa.

Good insulation performance

It can be used to manufacture insulators in electronic components, etc.

High refractoriness

The refractoriness is greater than or equal to 1800 degrees, and its melting point reaches 2050 degrees. Tabular alumina can maintain stable physical and chemical properties at high temperatures and is not prone to melting or deformation.

In the field of refractory materials: Tabular alumina can be used as the main component in aluminum-carbon, aluminum-magnesium-carbon, magnesium-aluminum-carbon, magnesia-spinel, and aluminum-chromium refractory bricks, and can also be introduced as an enriched alumina component into high-aluminum non-uniform refractory materials. It is widely used in equipment such as blast furnaces, pig iron cars, steel ladles, intermediate boxes, RH furnaces, nozzles, sliding nozzles in the steel industry, as well as high-temperature equipment linings in the casting and ceramics industries.
