Electro-neutralization
PAC in water dissociates into multonuclear complex ions with positive charges, which can neutralize the negative charges of suspended particles in water reducing the zeta potential on the particle surface and destabilizing the colloids.
Adsorption bridging
The long-chain molecular structure of PAC can adsorb multiple suspended particles, and through the bridging effect, it connects dispersed small particles into larger flocs
Net capture and sweeping
When the dosage of PAC is large, a large amount of hydroxide precipitates will form. These precipitates act like nets to encapsulate and sweep the fine particles in the water, further enhancing the flocculation effect. Through these processes, impurities in the water form large granular flocs that can be settled or filtered, and are ultimately removed through processes such as sedimentation and filtration to achieve water purification.

Main Application Scenarios Of Poly Aluminum Chloride For Water Treatment
Drinking Water Purification
- Applied in water treatment plants and rural drinking water projects, etc., to remove turbidity, color, organic matter, heavy metals , and microorganisms from raw water. The purified water meets the national drinking water standards (GB 5749-2022).
- Advantages: Compared with traditional flocculants (such as aluminum sulfate), Poly aluminum Chloride requires less dosage, has lower residual aluminum content, is safer for human consumption, and causes a smaller decrease in pH value of the purified water, eliminating the need for additional pH adjustment.
Industrial Wastewater Treatment
