Description

Refractory grade calcined alumina is made from high-quality alumina as the raw material. It is calcined in a kiln at a temperature of 1450 degrees Celsius. This process produces high-temperature calcined alumina with an alpha crystal structure, which is in the form of white powder. It has low impurity content, stable crystal form, and excellent performance. The products have stable shrinkage rate, high mechanical strength, excellent electrical insulation performance, and very excellent performance in terms of wear resistance, corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance. The calcined alumina after grinding, slurry preparation and spray drying is produced as high-temperature calcined alumina powder. The particle size can be adjusted according to customer requirements within the range of 325-10000 mesh (45 microns - 1 micron). The particle size distribution are narrow, the linear shrinkage is stable, and it has excellent sintering performance.

Refractory Grade Calcined Alumina Characteristics

High melting point

The melting point is over 2050℃, capable of withstanding high-temperature environments. It is not prone to melting at high temperatures and can effectively resist various high-temperature industrial kilns and ovens.

01

High mechanical strength

It has good compressive strength and flexural strength, capable of withstanding the pressure from the materials inside the kiln and mechanical impacts. It is not easily damaged by external forces. For example, in cement rotary kilns, it can withstand the long-term scouring of materials and the stress caused by the rotation of the kiln body.

02

Strong chemical stability

It has good resistance to erosion by acids and alkalis. At high temperatures, it is not prone to chemical reactions with other substances and can be used for smelting different types of metals and resist erosion by slag, etc.

03

Good thermal shock stability

After special processing, it has the ability to resist cracking due to sudden temperature changes and can adapt to frequent opening and closing of kilns in industrial production.

04

Uniform particle size

The particle sizes are relatively consistent, with a narrow distribution range. This enables uniform dispersion in refractory materials, ensuring the consistency of material performance and facilitating the improvement of the overall quality of refractory materials.

The Application Of Calcined Alumina

1

In the field of ceramic industry, structural ceramics: Calcined alumina, with its high hardness, excellent wear resistance and corrosion resistance, is widely used in the manufacture of structural ceramic components, such as ceramic bearings, ceramic seals, ceramic cutting tools, etc. These components can work stably for a long time in mechanical, chemical and other equipment, and their service life is much longer than that of metal components.

2

Electronic ceramics: In the electronics industry, calcined alumina is an important raw material for making electronic ceramics. For instance, it is used in the production of integrated circuit substrates, electron tube casings, high-frequency insulating porcelain, etc. Its excellent insulation and thermal conductivity can meet the usage requirements of electronic components in high-temperature and high-frequency environments.

3

Calcined alumina is a key raw material for the production of high-grade refractory materials. It can be used to manufacture refractory bricks, refractory castables, refractory fibers, etc., and is widely applied in the inner lining of high-temperature industrial furnaces in metallurgy, glass, ceramics and other industries. It can effectively resist the erosion of high-temperature flames and slag, and extend the service life of the furnaces.

4

Calcined alumina is an excellent material for making abrasives and grinding tools. Common ones include grinding wheels, sandpaper, grinding heads, grinding pastes, etc. They can be used for grinding and polishing of materials such as metals, ceramics, and glass, and can achieve high-precision surface treatment effects.

5

Insulating Materials: Calcined alumina can be made into various insulating parts, such as insulators and insulating sleeves, which are used in high-voltage electrical equipment to play the roles of insulation and support.

6

Thermal conductive materials: In some electronic devices, good thermal conductivity is required for heat dissipation. Refractory grade calcined alumina can be added as a thermal conductive filler to materials such as thermal conductive silicone and thermal conductive plastics to enhance their thermal conductivity.
