1. Physical Properties: Calcined alumina is a white, odorless, solid powder. Its specific gravity is 3.9-4.1 g/cm³, its melting point is approximately 2072°C, and its boiling point is approximately 2980°C. Calcined alumina exhibits excellent insulation and corrosion resistance, making it suitable for use in harsh environments such as high temperatures, acids, and alkalis.

2. Chemical Properties: Calcined alumina is an inert oxide. At room temperature, it is unreactive with most chemicals and is not easily oxidized by molten alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, copper, silver, gold, and other metallic elements. However, at high temperatures, it can react with aluminum fluoride to form hexafluoroaluminate (AlF₆).
